David Stoleson
Drumset, Percussion, Drum Programing
David started drumming at an early age and began his formal education at the age of 10 in Westby Elementary School. Most of his drumming career has focused on marching percussion, playing snare drum in marching bands and drum and bugle corps as well as several years teaching and judging in the winter drum line activity.
Recently, after toying with the idea of joining a rock band, David bought a drum kit and started working on his ‘set chops’, eventually joining local punk band Dead Air Disco and hard rock band In Your Head, as well as sitting in for several other groups. Several of David’s influences are Paul Wertico, Stewart Copeland, Dave Weckl, Matt Cameron and Jason Gerken.
David is an alumnus of UW-L Marching Chiefs and Screaming Eagles Marching Bands, Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps, Minnesota Brass Drum and Bugle Corps and is the member of the Riverside Brigade, a rope-tensioned rudimental drumming group.
He lives in La Crosse with his wife Joy and daughter Julia.
